General HRIS Integration FAQ
Updated over a week ago

Connecting your HRIS and payroll systems seamlessly to Compete is one of the key features in our platform. Compete integrates with more than 150 HRIS systems including Workday, Rippling, HiBob, and Bamboo to provide you with real-time industry benchmarking data!

Which HRIS systems does Compete integrate?

Visit https://merge.dev/categories/hr-payroll-api for the full list of supported HRIS providers. We use a third-party vendor to support all integrations, they are widely popular and used by top-tier companies. They meet the highest security standards.

My HRIS is not on the list / I can’t find my HRIS in the menu. What do I do?

In such a case, please use the CSV option to download our data template and fill in your employee data.

We encourage you to contact Compete's Customer Support and tell us which HRIS you're using so we can invite you to connect once that integration becomes available.

What data are you collecting from the HRIS?

The data we collect directly from the HRIS includes (*Mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk*):

First Name, Last Name, Employee ID, Department*, Role, Level, Office location*, Gender*, Commencement Date*, Currency Code*, Employment Type*, Pay Period*, Pay Amount (salary)*, Scope of employment* and Home location* are all pulled from the HRIS.

Once the integration finishes, there are several fields the customers need to fill in manually (*Mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk*):

  • Compete Role* (We auto-map most of the roles)

  • Compete Level*

  • Commissions

  • Bonus

  • Signing Bonus

  • Key Employee

Compete uses an HRIS integration to pull compensation data, as mentioned above. However, benchmark features for Equity and Benefits require providing Compete with these data types in a different method and not as part of the initial onboarding.

Why are we collecting home addresses of employees?

The data in the Employee home address field is used by Compete to support benchmarking for remote employees.

Do we pay an extra fee for the integrations?

As part of our standard license, this feature is included at no additional cost. Please note that some HRIS providers may charge an extra fee for integrations.

Who should I talk to when I have a problem during the integration process?
